This silver pendant is inspired by the notorious hemlock plant. Hemlock was used in ancient Greece as a fatal poison and was the method of execution of the famous philosopher, Socrates. With its beautiful sprays of tiny flowers the henbane plant hides a toxic secret often featuring in stories of murder and witchcraft
I make each pendant by hand from recycled sterling silver. The silver is melted and reformed into rough oval shapes, each is unique.
Etched on the front with a botanical drawing of hemlock and on the back there is text representing the magic and folklore of the plant.
Each pendant measures 15mm x 20mm approx and sits on a 45cm sterling silver chain.
