This pendant necklace is handmade, featuring an etched botanical drawing of mystical Mistletoe.
In Greek mythology, heroes were granted passage to the underworld with mistletoe. For Druidic societies, the plant was believed to give protection against evil and act as a cure for disease, and right through to the Middle Ages it had an association with fertility and vitality.
Inspired by the botanical drawings in Köhler's medicinal plants, 1887, the front of the pendant is etched with a Mistletoe motif. On the other side text, describing the magic and folklore of Mistletoe.
I make each pendant by hand, melting and reforming from recycled sterling silver, each is unique and may vary from the listing photos.
